Background: NHS England, the publicly funded healthcare system in England, serves a diverse population, including a significant number of Bengali-speaking individuals. Due to language barriers, Bengali patients often face challenges in understanding medical information, prescriptions, and treatment plans. Effective communication between healthcare providers and patients is crucial for delivering quality care, ensuring patient safety, and improving health outcomes.

Challenge: One of the primary challenges faced by NHS England is ensuring that Bengali-speaking patients fully understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and medication instructions. Miscommunication in healthcare settings can lead to misunderstandings, missed appointments, or improper medication usage, potentially resulting in health complications.

A specific case occurred at an NHS hospital, where several Bengali-speaking patients required medical care. Solution: I was engaged to provide English to Bengali translation services to bridge this language gap.
